History and Location
History
The Cann Valley Landcare group covers an area of about 8600 hectares. Landcaremembers come from as far as Club Terraceto the west and the Thurra and WinganRivers to the East. The Cann Valley stretches along the Monaro Highway from close to the NSW border in the north and down to Tamboon inlet and the coast. The group formed after a public meeting in March 1993 where a steering committeewas elected to facilitate its formation. Since then it has had an average membership base of 40 families. In 2007 the group joined the network of Far East Victoria Landcare.
